2010 AMERICAN LEGION SENIOR BASEBALL

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

 

District Tournament winners must be determined by July 22, 2010.

 

Zone Tournament will be played on July 24, 25 and 26, 2010

 

TOURNAMENT HOSTS AND LOCATION

 

ZONE 1 will be held in Washington, MO                 

ZONE 2 will be held in Independence, MO

ZONE 3 will be held in Carl Junction, MO

ZONE 4 will be held in Cape Girardeau, MO

 

Each District Champion must have a copy of their ALB National Form #1 and a Form #2 filled out in full and signed by the Department Baseball Chairman.  This copy of the ALB National Form #1, Form #2, and a birth certificate for each player whose appears on the ALB National Form #1 and Insurance Forms, must be presented to the Commissioner in charge before the first game of the Zone Tournament; any player failing to do so will not be allowed to participate in the Tournament. (All Valid team copies of Form 76 and / or 77 must be attached to the team copy of the ALB Form #1.)

 

Zone winners will need (6) 5x7 color photographs and (1) 8x10 color photograph prior to the first game of the Zone Tournament. Failure to do so will result in automatic forfeiture of the first Zone Tournament game and any subsequent game until proper photographs and forms are submitted. The Host of the Zone Tournament will keep all gate receipts and all other revenue generate by the tournament. The Host will furnish all the official baseballs for the tournament. Umpires fees will be shared by the teams playing in each game and will be paid prior to the start of each game to the Chief Umpire. Two Umpires will be required for each game. Three Umpires will be required for the Championship game.

 

There will be no per diem monies allowable to any team to help with team incurred expenses. Host will arrange for housing at the tournament site (40) rooms (10 per team) to be held in reservation until Thursday Noon July 22, 2010, before the start of the tournament on Saturday July 24, 2010. TEAM SPONSORS, WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE INCURRED BY THEIR TEAMS.

 

For the Zone Tournament, the Host Team will arrange rooms for Tournament Commissioners. The Department will pay for the Tournament Commissioners rooms.

 

ALL PLAYERS, MANAGERS, AND COACHES MUST BE IN FULL UNIFORM BEFORE ENTERING THE BALLPARK. ALL UNIFORMS MUST BE THE SAME. DRESSING IN THE DUGOUT OR INSIDE THE BALLPARK BEFORE THE GAME, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

 

THE STATE TOURNAMENT WILL BE HOSTED BY

THE AMERICAN LEGION DEPARTMENT OF MISSOURI

 

STATE TOURNAMENT will be played July 29, 30 and 31 and completed by August 1, 2010 in Sedalia, MO.

 

REGIONAL TOURNAMENT - August 5th to 9th in Blue Springs, MO

 

WORLD SERIES - August 13th to 17th in Spokane, WA

 

Teams playing in the State Finals will report to the Headquarters Hotel by 3:00 P.M. July 29, 2010 for a meeting with the Managers, Coaches, and Tournament Commissioners. The First game will be Thursday evening with the finals schedule for Saturday afternoon.

 

The Department Baseball Commission will reserve an adequate block of rooms for Players, Managers, and Coaches until deadline of July 27, 2010.  Managers of the teams winning their Zone Tournament will be responsible for making their own motel reservation for the State Tournament. Managers will be notified of the motel location upon the completion of the Zone Tournament.

 

Teams will be responsible for their own transportation to the State Tournament, and their own meals. The Department will pay for housing up to $500.00 provided teams stay at Host hotel.

 

State Tournament—Three Umpires will be required for every game. Championship games will require four Umpires. Umpires will be paid by the Department.

The team Managers, Umpires, and Tournament Commissioners, will confer prior to the first game of the Tournament to establish ground rules and protest procedures. Umpires will be instructed to start all games on time and see that the games run without undo delay.

 

No player in the Department Tournament Competition may pitch more than 12 innings or make more than four appearances as a pitcher in combining the total innings or appearances in any (3) consecutive 8:00 A.M. TO 8:00 A.M. day period. Any pitcher may be removed as a pitcher and still remain in the game at another position. The player may return as a pitcher, but if he does he will be charged with an appearance. When a manager or coach makes two trips to the mound in any one inning, to the same pitcher the pitcher must be removed on the second trip and cannot return to pitch in the game. If any pitcher is in violation of the 12 inning or 4 appearance rules, the team will forfeit the game. (Exception) A double or triple play will not cause the pitcher to exceed the 12 inning rule.

 

Eight warm up pitches will be allowed to a new pitcher, unless the previous pitcher was removed due to injury. In such cases the new pitcher will be allowed as many warm up pitches as necessary. Five warm up pitches will be allowed between innings.

The 10 run rule will be in effect after seven innings in all Department Tournament game, unless the home team is ahead by 10 runs or more after 6 ½ innings.

Teams competing in all Department Tournaments must have a minimum of 12 players available to start any Tournament game. Teams with less than 12 players will forfeit participate and the Department Baseball Commissioners will determine a suitable replacement, if circumstances permit. The lost of two games in any Department Tournament by one team eliminates the team from the Tournament.

 




2010 AMERICAN LEGION JUNIOR BASEBALL

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE AND REQUIREMENTS

 

District Tournament winners must be determined by July 11th, 2010.

 

Zone Tournaments will be played July 15, 16 and 17, 2010.

 

TOURNAMENT LOCATION  

 

ZONE 1 will be held at the ballpark of the 8th District Winner

ZONE 2 will be held at the ballpark of the 7th District Winner

ZONE 3 will be held at the ballpark of the 17th District Winner

ZONE 4 will be held at the ballpark of the 13th District Winner  

 

STATE TOURNAMENT will be played July 22, 23 and 24, 2010 at St Charles, MO

 

JUNIOR REGIONAL TOURNAMENT will be played August 5-8 at Fargo, ND

 

 

Zone winners will need (4) 5x7 color photographs and (1) 8x10 color photograph prior to the first game of the Zone Tournament. All photographs must have all players and team officials properly identified on separate pieces of paper for each photograph. The Host of the Zone Tournament will keep all gates receipts and all other revenue generated by the tournament. The Host will furnish all official game balls. Umpire fees will be shared by the teams playing in each game and will be paid prior to the start of each game to the Chief Umpire. Two Umpires will be required for each game. Three Umpires will be required for the Championship.

Umpire fees will be shared by the teams playing in each game and will be paid prior to the start of each game to the Chief Umpire. For the Zone and State Tournament, the Host team will reserve rooms for the Commissioners. The cost of the rooms will be paid by the Department.

 




***2010 AMERICAN LEGION “A” BASEBALL RULES ***

 

1.            Any player born on or after May 1, 1994 is eligible to participate in the “A” Baseball Program.

 

2.            Each team must use the same Base School for all levels of competition. All teams must be properly registered with the American Legion Department of Missouri.

 

3.            Players attending a non Base School must play for the Base School nearest their parents residence. Releases will be allowed and will be permanent for the remainder of the players eligibility to compete in the “A” Baseball Program.

 

4.            All League games will be seven (7) inning games except that in a tie game, the game will be played until a winner is determined.

 

5.            SLIDE RULE--- The American Legion Slide Rule (Rule 1.(G) WILL BE USED IN ALL Department league, non-league games, and in ALL Tournaments.

 

6.            10 Run Rule--- is effect for all Department games after five innings. (Unless the home team is ahead by 10 or more runs after 4 ½ innings.)

 

7.            Teams competing in all Department Tournaments must have a minimum of 9 players available to start any Tournament game. Teams with less than 9 players will forfeit to participate and the Department Commissioners will determine a suitable replacement, if circumstances permit. 

 

ALL AMERICAN BASEBALL TEAMS AT ALL LEVELS WILL BE GOVERNED BY THE OFFICIAL AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL RULES, UNLESS THE DEPARTMENT OF MISSOURI HAS ADOPTED AN APPROVED EXCEPTION TO A SPECIFIC RULE, OTHER THAN THOSE LISTED ABOVE.
